House of Representatives

The house of representatives has 435 members. The amount of representatives per state is determined by population. Because there is a constant number of members, if one state needs to gain a representative, another state must lose one. In the house there are 3 types of leaders: the speaker of the house, the floor leader, and the floor whips.. Representatives serve 2 year terms. In order to become a representative, you must be at least 25 years old, have been a citizen for at least 7 years, and live in the state you represent.
