The Senate

The senate is currently made up of 100 senators. This is because each state gets two senators to represent their state; if another state were to be added to the country, there would be 102 senators. Senators serve six year terms, and are divided into thirds, one third being reelected every two years. To become a senator, you must be 30 years old, and have been a U.S. citizen for at least 9 years. Also you must be a legal resident of the state you represent.
