Sessions
Sessions are meetings of one or both branches of congress. When both branches of congress are in session at the same time, it is called a joint session. sessions normally occur between January and November, with December being a break. During the year, there is at least one joint session.
Political Parties
There are two main political parties in the United States. These are the democratic party, and the republican party. The party with more members is called the majority party, while the party with less members is called the minority party.The two parties have private meetings, called caucuses, where the parties elect their party leaders.
